In 2000 I was invited by Penny Bicknell to a meeting to discuss the forming of an exhibiting group made up of people who had attended any of the Master Classes organised by June Thorpe in Romsey. The first challenge 'As Nature Intended' was set by Penny with the first rule to make two similar pieces, one to be handed on to others and one to be worked on by ourselves. There was only one other rule, nothing was to be thrown away. The piece could be treated in any way including cutting up up and reassembling it with or without additions. A second rule was added. Everything must be on the front of the work. We are now working on our seventh exhibition which will be premiered in 2015.
Unfortunately we are now without June Thorpe who died in April 2014.

As Nature Intended?
Our first exhibition. I chose to use my feet as inspiration as they are small and people can be very rude about their ability to hold be up.

Chiaroscuro - For this exhibtion we asked Joan York to give us a picture to work with. She gave us 'Boy with a Basket of Fruit' by Caravaggio. I chose to work with the vine leaves
Passage Defined - Just after Katrina hit New Orleans. A passage of a storm became my inspiration.
Red Hot - A very colourful set of quilts. I am a potter and red hot is the temperature that the kiln reaches when the clay is fusing together.
Structured - This exhibition was premiered at the Quilter's Guild Museum in York and then traveled to Holland

Marginal - on the Edge. The latest and is still touring. This started with the RSPB advice to farmers about field margins.
